Doc and Barney in the Stable |
Freddie at 11 months of age - "Shall
we dance"? |
 |
We have been actively involved with Shiloh Shepherds since 1995 when
we purchased Ben, a smooth coated dog, from Hilltop Kennels in Fulton,
NY. Prior to that we spent more than 25 years owning and/or breeding
Jack Russell Terriers, German Shepherd Dogs, Labrador Retrievers, and
Irish Wolfhounds. |
 | We have also spent 30 years owning and breeding horses
including Thoroughbreds, Canadian Sport Horses, Dutch Warmbloods, and
Trakehners for such equestrian pursuits as hunter/jumper showing, fox
hunting, driving, and three day eventing. A few photos
of our horses can be seen by using the link at the bottom of this page.

Our experiences with these varied breeds and species were
part of our decision to become a "stud" kennel only, and not keep
bitches on our premises as we feel our dogs must be part of our daily
lives. All four of our males live in our home, not in kennels or
crates, have a doggie door for access to a fenced yard, and we have fenced 5
acres of our farm with Invisible Fencing so they may have a good run when we
are outdoors with them. |
 | Our second Shiloh Shepherd, Freddie, came to us in 1996 from
Liberty Acres in Tennessee. We showed him briefly as a
puppy and he finished his Breed Club Championship in short order. He
began his show career in earnest in the winter of 1998 and became the top
winning Shiloh Shepherd of that time. He still holds the highest
year end finish in the American Rare Breed Association (ARBA) for a Shiloh
Shepherd -- #2 Rare Breed dog for all breeds along with #1 Herding
dog. He earned his registered name of
"Frequent Flyer" for his habit of jumping straight up in the air,
over and over again, like a pogo stick. |
 | Our third Shiloh, Doc, was spotted in Texas while we were
showing, purchased from Paragon Kennels and came to live with us in the
summer of 1998. He is our resident clown and is known for stealing the
hearts of those who meet him. |
 | Our fourth Shiloh, Colonel, arrived from Shenandoah Kennels in Pennsylvania
in July
of 1999. He is our gentle giant and stands 31 inches tall and
weighs 125 pounds. |
 |
Each of our dogs was chosen for their stable temperament and
their potential to be a top winning show dog and all four adults are
finished champions. Our males are available
for stud services after their hips have passed OFA and/or PennHip
certification and they have not only passed standard Temperament Tests, but
have passed our own more stringent requirements for disposition and ability
to be a true part of our family. |
 | We believe in using the most current veterinary methods
available in canine and equine reproduction, and as such support the use of
transported fresh semen and artificial insemination. We are able to
assist bitch owners and their veterinarians with this process and can assure
delivery of live, viable semen for successful insemination of bitches
without the stress of travel and live cover. If preferred, live cover
is also available. To learn about the Shiloh
Shepherd and it's origins, please access this link to the International
Shiloh Shepherd Dog Club (ISSDC) website: http://www.ShilohShepherd.org |
